MORUYA COUNSELLING

In the Eurobodalla our community have been through some really rough times.

Whilst in a drought there was a bush fire disaster like no other that touched everyone's life in someway followed by floods and then a pandemic.

These distressing events build up without realising the effect is has had on us. You may also have experience other stresses? Like witnessing or experiencing a distressing event such as; a motor vehicle accident, a distressing birthing experience, IVF treatment, medical trauma, family violence or sexual assault or be a survivor of bullying.

You may feel anxious, irritable, in low mood, exhausted, nightmares or flashbacks. You may find you no longer enjoy the things you use to maybe your isolating yourself, which is your brains way of preventing you from any further stressors.

The mind usually heals itself naturally in the same way that the body does. However when we experience a distressing event, our brains can get overwhelmed and the memory gets stuck in our lower brain and nervous system. Images and feelings can come up that feel as bad as the day it happened.

We can work together to support your brain to heal itself with no need to retell your trauma story.
